The Origin Story

Why Miss MegaByte Exists

Today's children are growing up in a world shaped by artificial intelligence, algorithms, and always-on connectivity — but most schools don't yet have the tools to teach them how to navigate it safely and confidently.

Miss MegaByte was created to change that. Born from the intersection of IT expertise and a passion for educational equity, she's a superhero who looks like the students she serves — and speaks their language.

Through superhero storytelling, animated adventures, and hands-on classroom activities, Miss MegaByte makes AI literacy, digital citizenship, online safety, data privacy, and cybersecurity basics feel exciting and accessible — not intimidating — for K–5 learners.

Our Approach

Curriculum Philosophy

Story-First Learning

Every lesson begins with a story. Miss MegaByte and her crew face real digital challenges, and students learn by watching — then doing. Narrative makes abstract tech concepts concrete and memorable.

Age-Appropriate Design

K–5 is not one audience — it's three. Our content is differentiated by grade band: K–1 explores and discovers, Grades 2–3 practice and protect, Grades 4–5 think, create, and lead.

Standards Alignment

All content maps to ISTE Student Standards, CSTA K-12 CS Framework, and Maryland's AI Ready Schools initiative — making adoption easy for teachers and administrators alike.

Equity & Representation

Miss MegaByte was intentionally designed to reflect students who have been underrepresented in tech — showing every child that a career in technology is possible and that they belong.

Family Extension

Learning doesn't stop at 3pm. Every lesson includes a take-home family activity so parents and caregivers can reinforce digital safety habits in real, everyday moments.

Feedback-Driven Development

The curriculum evolves through real classroom feedback. Pilot partners shape every iteration — ensuring the content works for actual students, not just in theory.
